Deputy Director of the Education and Research Institute "Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy” of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Professor Maryna Vasylieva took part in the International Staff and Teaching Week "Inclusion and Mental Wellbeing in Higher Education”, organised by the Pontifical University of Salamanca (Spain) from 7 to 11 April 2025. This university is the coordinator of the international Erasmus+ project CB UA-Talent-UP, one of the participants of which is the ERI “UEPA”. The visit to the university was preceded by an organised online meeting of all participants of the International Week from different countries on 02 April 2025, during which a presentation and discussion of the areas of work of higher education institutions in ensuring the inclusion of all participants in the educational process took place.
During the International Week, representatives of the Pontifical University of Salamanca organised several interesting events: lectures "Movement: Your Best Companion’ (Dr Francisco Javier Alves Vas); "Inclusion and Diversity in Higher Education” (Dr Benito Marín Serrano); "Consciousness, Psychological Wellbeing and Mental Health" (presentation of a research project and a workshop); workshop "Time for Self-Care” (Marieke Voncken). Participants of the week - representatives of different universities - presented the work of international departments, exchanged best practices on: initiatives and resources for inclusion and mental well-being in higher education (Martine Sulen and Nina Lødøen, Norwegian University of Science and Technology); organisation of the student counselling centre at the University of Duhok (Dr. Faek Diko); inclusion measures and policies at the University College Leuven-Limburg (Stef Coomans and Joëlle Schepers); involvement of the university community in planning and implementing improvements in the culture of organisational well-being (Vanja Perovšek, University of Ljubljana). Participants of the international week had the opportunity to visit various departments of the Pontifical University of Salamanca and ask their representatives questions about the organisation of psychological, moral, physical, and rehabilitation support for participants in the educational process.
A rich cultural programme - a walk around the city of Salamanca and exploring its sights, a picnic in the city park for informal communication, an excursion to the Sierra de Francia - helped to establish interpersonal relationships and build plans for future international cooperation between representatives of different universities.
