N. Karazin Kharkiv National University received the laboratories of electrical engineering and automated electric drive and automation of production processes under the agreement between the Ministry of Education and Science and the Subsidiary Enterprise "FESTO”. From 14 to 18 April, the staff of the ERI “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy” was trained on how to use the new equipment. Teachers are delighted with the new opportunities for organising the educational process and conducting research!
Last week, more than 20 teachers and staff of the Departments of Automation, Metrology and Energy Efficient Technologies; Electrical Engineering and Power Engineering; Mechanical Engineering, Transport and Welding of the ERI “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy” of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University were trained in the basics of using the equipment of the leading German manufacturer of production automation FESTO in the educational process.
The training was opened by Yevhen Ryzhenko, Head of the Didactics Department of the FESTO Kyiv office. The training was conducted by the company's representative, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Mykola Yakymchuk. The classes were held on the basis of the newly created interdepartmental laboratory of modern production automation technologies.
The training cycle lasted five days and included numerous modules covering laboratory workshops of special disciplines of the ERI “UEPA” technical departments. The following were taught:
- logical elements of digital circuitry,
- electric drive control circuits, variable frequency drive, automated electric wire, servo drive,
- electric motors,
- automated pneumatic drive,
- basics of mechatronics on the example of the MecLab training equipment set, MPS D packaging station, MPS sorting station.
Teachers and engineers received a basic understanding of the principles of operation and capabilities of the new laboratories. There is a lot of fruitful work ahead to master and develop the material and technical base of the departments. The lecturers will be able to continue their in-depth training in Kyiv free of charge over the coming months.
According to the MOES-UIHERP-C2-MERGERS-04_L1 agreement between the Ministry of Education and Science and the World Bank-funded FESTO Subsidiary, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University received laboratories for electrical engineering and automated electric drive and automation of production processes. The laboratories include numerous equipment listed below:
- Set of elements "Fundamentals of electrical engineering / electronics”.
- Set of elements "Fundamentals of electrical engineering in the field of metalworking”.
- Set of elements "Network systems and electrical safety measures”.
- Set of elements "Fundamentals of digital technology”.
- Set of elements "Basics of contact circuits”.
- Training module with frequency converter "Sinamics G120 EduTrainer®”.
