“Horizon 2020” is the EU's largest research and innovation programme.
The budget is almost €80 billion. In addition to these funds, the programme attracts private investment.
The goal is to bring about rich scientific breakthroughs, discoveries and global innovations, and to transfer great ideas from laboratories to markets.
Participation in the programme will provide Ukraine with powerful new opportunities at both the stakeholder and institutional levels. Ukrainian researchers will be fully eligible to apply for all mobility programmes and Marie Skłodowska-Curie scholarships.
The Horizon 2020 programme will facilitate research and innovation and increase its effectiveness, as well as stimulate growth and employment, given the enormous challenges facing our societies.
Priorities. Horizon 2020 will focus funding on three distinct, complementary EU priorities. These priorities are in line with those identified in the Europe 2020 programme and the Innovation Union. Particular attention will be paid to:
