The Department of Practical Psychology and Innovative Health Technologies of the Education and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy” of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University signed a memorandum of cooperation on psychological support and interaction in the field of mental health with the 5th Slobozhanska brigade “Skif” of the National Guard of Ukraine.
"The memorandum of cooperation that we have signed with the Slobozhanskyi Guards aims to improve our students' practical knowledge of crisis and extreme psychology. Together with military psychologists, we will be able to understand how to work with military personnel and veterans to help them recover and provide psychological assistance. We are already working with wounded soldiers in medical facilities. It is very important for the Department of Practical Psychology that our students receive practical knowledge along with theory," commented Nataliia Kucherenko, head of the Department of Practical Psychology and Innovative Health Technologies at the ERI “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy”.
Such initiatives are extremely necessary for our existence in wartime. State bodies and educational institutions are increasingly cooperating on various types of support. Joint work and knowledge sharing can speed up recovery and improve the level of care for our defenders.
"Our cooperation agreement will be beneficial for both parties. In particular, we plan to organise training courses for employees and military personnel working in the field of mental health, as well as participation in open lectures. We also plan to hold career guidance events for the brigade and inform psychology graduates about opportunities for promising military service under contract as military psychologists," said Lieutenant Colonel Stanislav Kuznetsov, head of the brigade's psychological support department.
