Representatives of the Department of Practical Psychology and Innovative Health Technologies of the ERI “UEPA” took part in the Forum “Investing in Human Capital: A Roadmap for Comprehensive and Participatory Recovery of the Kharkiv Region”

On 10 October, representatives of the Department of Practical Psychology and Innovative Health Technologies of the ERI “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy” of Karazin University, Head of Department Associate Professor Nataliia KUCHERENKO and Head of Laboratory Olha KAIDALOVA, took part in the Forum "Investing in Human Capital: Roadmap for Comprehensive and Participatory Recovery of Kharkiv Region." The event was organized by the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration in cooperation with UNICEF.

The main topic of the Forum was the discussion of the formation of a new model of safe development of education and medicine in the Kharkiv region. Challenges in the fields of education, healthcare and social protection were discussed, and an action plan for the development of human capital at the regional level was outlined.

The Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Oksen Lisovyi, emphasised the need for a systematic approach to investing in education — from pre-school to higher education. "Today, we must understand that investment in human capital begins in childhood. We actively support Kharkiv region's initiatives to build safe underground schools, but we must not forget about preschool education. The issue of kindergartens is a ‘blind spot’ that needs to be addressed. Young families should be able to send their children to safe and modern kindergartens. This is part of our common strategy for human capital development," said Oksen Lisovyi, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine.

"The recovery of Ukraine begins with investing in its greatest strength — its people, especially children and young people. Our common goal is clear: recovery must be child- and youth-centred, inclusive and based on local initiatives. The experience of Kharkiv shows that when human capital is at the heart of recovery, the foundations are laid for a strong and sustainable Ukraine," emphasised Munir Mammadzade.

Key participants and speakers in the panel discussion included: Oleh Syniegubov, Head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration; Oksen Lisovyi, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine; Kristina Mikulova, Head of the Regional Representation of the European Investment Bank; Munir Mammadzade, Head of the UNICEF Representation in Ukraine; Seymour Mardaliev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Ukraine; Luc Jacobs, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Ukraine; Ravi Shankar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Ukraine, Borjanka Simicevic, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Montenegro to Ukraine, as well as representatives of Norway, Poland, Slovenia and Latvia.
