A GRANT WAS WON FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A NEW INTERNATIONAL PROJECT FROM THE KRONOSPAN FOUNDATION TO CREATE A ROBOTICS LABORATORY ON ARDUINO

We are pleased to announce that the Centre for Innovative Educational Technologies of the ERI “UEPA” of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University has won a grant for the project “Robotics Lab on Arduino: Creating Innovative Solutions for Automation and Programming” from the Kronospan Foundation as part of the International Skill.ED Project Competition 2024.

The competition was dedicated to supporting general, vocational education, regardless of industry.

The Arduino Robotics Laboratory: Creating Innovative Solutions for Automation and Programming project aims to create a unique laboratory with modern equipment that will operate both stationary and mobile, depending on the security conditions in the region.

The KRONOSPAN Foundation will finance the purchase of specialised equipment for the laboratory for a total of about €10,000, which will be used to purchase powerful laptops, 3D printers for prototyping, special Arduino Uno KIT Mega Packs, motion, temperature, humidity sensors, ultrasonic sensors, infrared sensors, TV, robotics toolkits, controllers and modules, and peripheral equipment.

The key idea of the project is to develop a modern concept for supporting vocational education in Ukraine using robotic systems based on the Arduino platform and 3D printing technologies.

The aim of the project is to create a laboratory that will allow students, teachers and VET students to master the latest 3D printing technologies and Arduino-based robotics solutions, which will help introduce innovations in vocational education and professional development of teachers. It is also planned to launch joint educational projects, conferences, and specialised hackathons.

The laboratory will provide wide access to innovative technologies for applicants for the speciality 015 Vocational Education (by specialisations) of the ERI “UEPA”, teachers and students of vocational and technical education and professional higher education institutions in Kharkiv region.

The project is aimed at updating vocational education by introducing modern robotics and programming technologies that change the learning process and promote the acquisition of new practical skills.
