The fifth international school of pedagogical excellence “EDUCATION 4.0 AND PEDAGOGICAL EXCELLENCE” was held on 16-20 December at the premises of the ERI Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University (Kharkiv) on the initiative of the Department of Information Computer Technologies and Mathematics and the Centre for Innovative Educational Technologies. The special theme of this year's school is “Digital Compass of a Modern Specialist”. The school is implemented with the support of: Public Union “Association for the Development of Professional and Continuing Education”; Project “Strengthening the capabilities of Ukrainian academics in innovative pedagogical and psychological education and research”, implemented by Masaryk University (Brno) with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic; Erasmus+ project CRED4TEACH “MOOC-based micro-credentials for teacher professional development”; Erasmus+ project UA-Talent-UP “Development of entrepreneurship, creativity and intercultural competences for quality teaching in Ukraine”.
Welcoming remarks were made by: Maryna Vasylieva, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Deputy Director of the ERI UEPA of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, National Coordinator of the Erasmus+ project UA-Talent-UP. The School participants were also greeted by Oleksandr Kupriianov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Deputy Director of the ERI UEPA of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, National Coordinator of the Erasmus+ project CRED4TEACH. Roman Nesterenko, Deputy Head of the International Relations Department of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, greeted the school participants and international speakers and wished them fruitful work. The coordinator of the School ‘Education 4.0 and Pedagogical Excellence’, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Information Computer Technologies and Mathematics of the ERI UEPA of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University Tetiana Bondarenko introduced the participants to the School's programme and organisational conditions of the event.
During the week, the School participants attended masterclasses from foreign and Ukrainian speakers. The invited guest from Turkey, Professor Cengiz Hakan AYDIN from Özyeğin University in Istanbul, a participant of the Erasmus+ CRED4TEACH project, presented the topic “Integrating AI into Teaching and Learning in Higher Education”. The second day was dedicated to the topic “Developed Career Paths at EPAM: A Modern View” presented by Daryna Avramenko, Senior Talent Development Specialist at EPAM. The guest speaker from the Czech Republic, Lenka GULOVÁ, Professor of Social Pedagogy at Masaryk University in Brno, spoke about “Current Trends in Teacher Training in the Czech Republic”. Also at the School, the speaker of the last year's School from Germany, Jürgen Koeberlein-KERLER, Professor, Doctor of Philosophy, CEO of IBK Ingenieurbuero Koeberlein GmbH & Co.KG, presented his book “Mastering the Energy Transition” and offered cooperation in translating the book into Ukrainian for Ukrainian teachers and researchers. Olha Luchaninova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Leading Researcher at the Department of Scientific Information and Analytical Support of Education of the V. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Educational Library of Ukraine, National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, presented a master class on “Educator 5.0: A Step Ahead of Education 4.0”.
Juan Manuel Castro CARRACEDO, a senior lecturer at the Pontifical University of Salamanca of the Erasmus+ project UA-Talent-UP, presented the topic “Building Digital Foundations: A Curriculum Blueprint for Primary Learners”. The last day of the School was devoted to the topic “Modernisation of Vocational Training Programmes Using AI Technologies”, presented by representatives of the Scientific and Methodological Centre for Vocational Education in Kharkiv Region, Deputy Director Yuliia DAVYDOVA and methodologist Olena DIDENKO. Tetiana BONDARENKO, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Information Computer Technologies and Mathematics of the ERI UEPA of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, summarised the topic “Digital Compass of the Modern Specialist: Challenges and Realities of Today” and summarised the results of the School.
The total number of registered participants of the School was about 300 teachers, masters, scientists, managers, and 90 to 130 online students took part in the online master classes.
During the school, all participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with new platforms, services and master new artificial intelligence technologies and digital technologies in education. They were also asked to complete individual tasks and send them to the organising committee.
Based on the results of the work, all participants will receive relevant certificates and invaluable experience in a new area of education and science, as well as join new trends in education of foreign higher education institutions.
