Dean of the Faculty of Philology Prof. Yevheniia CHEKAREVA, Deputy Director of the ERI UEPA Prof. Maryna VASYLIEVA (online), and Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University Roman NESTERENKO (live in Budapest) joined the hybrid workshop ‘Cooperation with Ukraine in the Humanities’, organised by BAYHOST at the Andrassy University in Budapest (Hungary).
Representatives of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University presented their reports on ‘Multilingualism in Ukraine: the history and prospects of development’ (Y. Chekareva), ‘Foreign Language Training in the European Integration of Ukrainian Students: Current Challenges’ (M. Vasylieva and R. Nesterenko) and held a number of successful negotiations with representatives of universities and NGOs from Bavaria, Finland, and Hungary.
The event brought together more than 60 representatives of institutions from Ukraine, Hungary, Germany and other countries of the region.
The workshop was focused on continuing and expanding academic partnerships in these difficult times, especially for Ukrainian institutions facing the consequences of the Russian aggressor war. The event covered such important topics as multilingualism, digital humanities and digital education, among others.
One of the most important results of this workshop was the establishment of a direct dialogue between the participating institutions. These discussions have already sparked interest in new joint projects, exchange programmes, and joint research initiatives.
