Within the framework of the project ‘Strengthening the capabilities of Ukrainian academics in innovative pedagogical and psychological education and research’, which is being implemented at Masaryk University (Brno, Czech Republic) with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, from 4 to 8 November, representatives of the Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy and the Department of International Relations of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University underwent an internship ‘Implementation of Problematic Behaviour Management in the Education of Future Teachers in Higher Pedagogical Schools in Ukraine’.
N. Karazin Kharkiv National University was represented by the Deputy Director of the ERI “UEPA”, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Maryna Vasylieva, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Information Computer Technologies and Mathematics of the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies Tetiana Bondarenko and Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations Roman Nesterenko.
The project partnership consists of: ERI UEPA of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Donbas State Pedagogical University, Hryhorii Skovoroda University in Pereiaslav, Zaporizhzhia National University, Poltava V.G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University and Masaryk University.
On the first day of the internship programme, the results of the evaluation of the experience of Ukrainian colleagues in implementing the new subject were presented. The presentation from the Institute presented the implementation of the course ‘Psychological Features of Personality Behaviour in Extreme and Crisis Situations’ for bachelors of the speciality ‘Practical Psychology’. The purpose of the course is to teach students the basic laws of psychology of human behaviour in extreme conditions, to acquire in-depth knowledge, skills and abilities in the field of psychological aspects of human behaviour in extreme situations in accordance with the modern scientific principles of extreme psychology.
The next training block was dedicated to the presentation of opportunities for Ukrainian universities to participate in grant programmes. The project leader, Professor Lenka Gulova, spoke in detail about current priorities, including the problems of digitalisation, the use of artificial intelligence, and media literacy.
The third day of the training was devoted to the preparation of a quantitative study that will be implemented in Ukraine and the Czech Republic within the framework of the project ‘Strengthening the capacities of Ukrainian academics in innovative pedagogical and psychological education and research’, which is being implemented at the Masaryk University and with the financial support of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The questionnaire-based research will be conducted among school teachers and will focus on their experience of working with students with problematic behaviour.
The next day, the internship participants attended a lecture by Dr Michal Černý, who shared his experience of teaching pedagogical disciplines and highlighted his vision of the challenges of learning in the context of science (sample sizes, methodological reliability, research design) and practice (internationalisation, digitalisation, inclusion and diversity).
The final day was devoted to evaluating the project results, discussing the details of the next stage of the project, awarding certificates and reflecting. There was also a discussion of further areas of cooperation between the Masaryk University and the project participating universities from Ukraine!
The cultural component of the visit programme included a trip to Prague, a visit to the historical sites of Brno, participation in a special creative evening of Ukrainian-Czech creative groups, and a visit to the Museum of Roma Culture.
