From October 1 to 3, researchers from the Education and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy” of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University took part in the 54th International Conference on Engineering Pedagogy “ICL – 2025 Innovation via Collaborative Learning in Engineering Education”, which took place in Budapest (Hungary) at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME). The conference combined the 28th International Conference on Interactive Collaborative Learning and the 54th IGIP International Conference on Engineering Pedagogy
This year, the conference was held in a hybrid format. The conference was organised by the International Society for Engineering Pedagogy IGIP, the International Association of Online Engineering, and the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME).
At the conference, researchers from the ERI “UEPA” of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University presented the Erasmus+ projects UA-Talent-UP “Stepping-up Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Intercultural Competences for High Quality Teaching in Ukraine” (project No. 101129457) and Cread4Teach “MOOC-based micro-credentials for teacher professional development” (project No. 101082858).
This year, 13 papers were presented at the conference. Five reports were presented in the conference session halls, namely Oleksandr Kupriianov presented a report entitled “Accreditation of micro-credential programmes: qualimetric approaches to quality assessment”, Tetiana Bondarenko gave a presentation on “MOOC as an innovative approach to educational interaction in the training of future specialists”, Maryna Vasylieva presented a report entitled “Development of social responsibility of teachers of vocational education institutions as a global competence”, Yuliia Fedorova shared scientific results on the topic “Improving emotional intelligence for Generation Z entrepreneurship: a digital perspective”, Juergen Koeberlein-Kerler, together with Ukrainian scientists, gave a presentation on “Different levels of access to artificial intelligence (AI) – a deep dive into OpenAI and Deepseek”. Eight reports were presented online using the Microsoft Teams platform: “Management of educational and cognitive activities in distance learning”, “Developing fundraising skills for future computer engineering educators”, “Training of food industry teachers based on the principles of the theory of inventive problem solving”, “Formation of professionally-oriented content of the electrical engineering course for students majoring in mechanical engineering”, “Abolition of the Russian language in the east of Ukraine: psycholinguistic, sociolinguistic and educational perspectives”, “Qualimetric approaches to assessing the quality of education using fractal-cluster analysis”, “Digitalisation of the educational environment as a factor in the development of the communicative competence of engineering and teaching staff”, “The use of digital twins to create adaptive simulators in the training of nuclear power plant operators”.
The article by authors Hanna Hrynchenko and Andrii Matsko, “Qualimetric Approaches to Assessing the Quality of Education Using Fractal Cluster Analysis”, was also recognised as the best article of the conference.

Representatives of the ERI “UEPA” also visited BME InnoLab, where they learned about research related to unmanned vehicles.

Scientific developments by researchers at the ERI “UEPA” of V.N. The conference proceedings will be published under the title ICL2025 Proceedings in the Springer series “Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems”. Books in this series are indexed in SCOPUS, INSPEC, WTI Frankfurt eG, zbMATH, SCImago, and will be submitted for consideration by Web of Science.
