Summer School of the ERASMUS+ CBHE EUComplianceM4UA project in Lublin (Poland)

 

Representatives of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University - Deputy Director of the ERI “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy", Professor Maryna Vasylieva, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Associate Professor Vitalii Diachek, Deputy Head of the International Relations Department Roman Nesterenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics and Management of the ERI “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy" Yuliia Dudnieva, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics and Management of the ERI “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy" Yuliia Fedorova and assistant of the Department of Marketing and Commercial Business of the ERI “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy" Borys Hil - from 9 to 13 June took part in the International Summer School on Compliance Management held in Lublin (Poland).

The event was organised by the Graduate School of Entrepreneurship and Administration (WSPA) as part of the Erasmus+ EUComplianceM4UA project ‘Implementation of the European Approach of Compliance Management in Higher Education in Ukraine’. The summer school was attended by representatives of leading Ukrainian universities implementing compliance and corporate ethics education programmes. The main goal of the school was to promote the development of compliance education in Ukrainian universities through the exchange of European experience, presentation of best practices of partner universities, practical training of teachers to implement topics on corporate responsibility, internal control, cybersecurity, ethics and ESG components, as well as the formation of a common vision of the content of modern compliance education.

As part of the presentation of Ukrainian partner universities, members of the project team of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University presented a report on ‘Building a Compliance Culture and Organisational Learning’.
During five intense days, representatives of the project teams took part in trainings on the implementation of integrity policies, whistleblowing mechanisms, digital compliance tools and the development of a code of ethics at the university; discussing compliance in marketing communications and applied aspects of compliance policies.

Participants also joined an active cultural programme: they visited the Baobab integration space in Lublin, where projects for local residents, migrants and refugees are implemented; took a tour of the historic city centre; visited Kazimierz Dolny, a well-known cultural centre in the region, and toured the Lublin Castle palace complex.
The format of the event facilitated active exchange of experience, establishment of inter-university contacts and formation of a common vision of the development of compliance education in Ukraine in the context of European integration.
