A representative of the CIET of the ERI “UEPA” took part in a workshop and completed an online course on investigative journalism

 

Tetiana Kostrova, a representative of the Centre for Innovative Educational Technologies of the ERI “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy” of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, took part in the offline workshop "Tell People Stories! Storytelling - from news to films".

During the two-day workshop, participants learned:

- how to see a strong story among the frantic flow of information, how to formulate it correctly and convey it to the audience;

- about the format of storytelling in different types of content - from short videos to longreads;

- ractical advice on how to avoid banality and templates, what the modern audience needs, and how even tragic stories can be told with hope. 

The participants also practised creating their own stories with a focus on depth, emotion and impact.
From 1 to 10 April, Tetiana also took a course "Investigative Journalism: Topics, Planning, Storytelling”.

The online course participants learned how to:
- formulate hypotheses;
- search for the necessary data;
- work with information sources;
- use registers, social networks and other tools to collect and verify facts.

A separate block will be devoted to storytelling - the design of material so that it is understandable, consistent and influential.
