International recognition: a lecturer at Kharkiv National University has been awarded a WAPP certificate

Between May 2025 and March 2026, at the South Ukrainian Institute of Psychology, Psychotherapy and Management, the basic training programme for positive psychotherapy counsellors was attended by Natalia Korolova, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Practical Psychology and Innovative Health Technologies at the ERI “UEPA” of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

As part of the training programme, participants covered the following topics:

  • an exploration of Nossrat Peseschkian’s humanistic concept, in which a person is viewed as a ‘mine of precious stones’ possessing all the necessary inner resources;
  • an understanding of the structure of psychological counselling — from the first session to the conclusion of the therapeutic process;
  • diagnosing the root causes of clients’ psychological problems and internal conflicts;
  • analysing the distribution of a person’s life energy across four spheres: body/health, activity/achievement, contacts/relationships, and fantasies/future/meaning;
  • exploring how minor daily conflicts affect a person’s overall psychological state;
  • practical use of a diagnostic tool to identify a person’s current abilities and behavioural patterns;
  • other elements of the curriculum.

Successful completion of the course will enable the integration of cutting-edge tools and fundamental psychotherapeutic skills into the department’s educational programme, as well as ensuring international recognition of the qualification, conferring the legal right to practise counselling in European countries. Furthermore, the internationally recognised certificate obtained facilitates the lecturer’s European integration, granting them the right to become a full member of the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP).

Following the successful completion of the course, Natalia Korolova received an international certificate as a positive psychotherapy counsellor from the World Association for Positive and Transcultural Psychotherapy (WAPP), based in Wiesbaden, Germany.

We warmly congratulate Natalia Korolova on successfully enhancing her professional qualifications and gaining international recognition! We are proud of the professionalism of our lecturers, who ensure that our education meets modern global standards.
