The ERI “UEPA” hosted a training session entitled “Anti-corruption activities: Young people for integrity”

The Education and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy” at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University hosted a training session entitled “Anti-corruption activities: Young people for integrity”, aimed at fostering values of transparency and accountability among students.

The event was led by specialists from the Centre for Innovative Educational Technologies — Oleksandr PRYSIAZHNYI and Kseniia PRYSIAZHNA. The training session was attended by students keen to gain a deeper understanding of the mechanisms for preventing corruption and the role of young people in building an ethical society.

During the theoretical part of the training, participants were introduced to the basic concepts of anti-corruption work, the main causes of corruption, and its negative consequences for the state and society. The principles of integrity, transparency and accountability were discussed, as well as modern approaches to fostering an anti-corruption culture within the educational sector.

The speakers paid particular attention to the role of young people as active agents of change. Participants learnt about opportunities to get involved in community initiatives, anti-corruption projects, and public oversight mechanisms that help to increase the transparency of government activities.

The practical part of the training was structured as an interactive session. Participants worked on real and simulated case studies, analysed situations involving corruption, and collaboratively developed effective solutions. This approach not only helped to consolidate theoretical knowledge but also developed skills in critical thinking, teamwork and responsible decision-making.

During the discussions, participants actively shared their views and ideas on how to improve integrity among students and in society as a whole. The lively debate underscored the relevance of the topic and the young people’s keen interest in bringing about positive change.

The training session marked an important step in fostering a generation of young people who are informed, responsible and proactive, guided by the principles of integrity, the rule of law and social responsibility, and ready to contribute to the development of a transparent and just society.
