Hosted by the Education and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy” of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, the 8th International Scientific and Practical Web Forum “Building a Unified Open Information Space for Lifelong Learning” was held online from 24 to 26 March 2026.
The scientific and practical web forum was co-organised by:

All co-organisers confirmed their agreement in a letter to that effect and sent it one month before the forum began.

A welcoming address on behalf of the Education and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy” of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University was delivered by its Director, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Denys Kovalenko, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Senior Researcher, Head of the Department of Scientific, Information and Analytical Support for Education at the V. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Educational Library of Ukraine, National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, and PhD candidate at the National Aviation University (Kyiv, Ukraine) Maryna Rostoka, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Deputy Director of the Education and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy” of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Oleksandr Kupriianov.

The speakers presented projects on which the Education and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy” of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University is working in collaboration with partners from Germany, Turkey and Ukraine.
This year, the Forum focused on the following academic areas:
- Adult education in the context of the dynamic development of the information society.
- The psychological foundations for building a unified, open information space for lifelong learning.
- Digital technologies and artificial intelligence in modern education.
- The transdisciplinary paradigm of digital transformation in education and pedagogy: information and analytical support.
- Engineering and pedagogical education.
- University education: current trends.
During the web forum, 25 presentations were delivered online and over 100 in person. Forum participants had an invaluable opportunity to learn about interesting developments in the field of educational information technology by domestic and international researchers, to exchange experiences, and to gain new insights and scientific ideas. Particular attention was once again paid to the topical issue of the application of artificial intelligence technologies in education and science, and the specifics of the safe use of platforms and techniques.
The Forum concluded with a review of the proceedings and the announcement of decisions regarding the prospects and objectives for joint activities among all educational and research institutions of the organisers and co-organisers from Ukraine and other countries. It also involved the formulation of recommendations, proposals and advice on the technological, information and communication, content and methodological, social and communication, and organisational and international aspects of organising and conducting web forums.
