The Education and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy” of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University hosted a workshop entitled “Video Editing as a Tool for Visual Communication”, led by staff from the Centre for Innovative Educational Technologies – Oleksandr Prysiazhnyi and Kseniia Prysiazhna. During the session, participants were introduced to the capabilities of modern tools for creating and editing video content. The workshop format combined theoretical explanations with practical examples.
The speakers outlined the key stages of video production:
- preparing the footage;
- structuring the sequence;
- working with sound;
- basic editing principles that help make the video clear and engaging for the viewer.
A separate session was devoted to an introduction to popular video editing software. Participants learnt about the capabilities of tools such as Vegas Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, Clipchamp and YouCut, as well as how to use them when creating content.
The workshop also covered the following topics:
- structuring a video narrative;
- the use of editing transitions;
- video rhythm and image composition;
- text and audio for effective communication.
Participants had the opportunity to ask the speakers questions and discuss the practical aspects of creating their own video projects.
