The Education and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy” has received equipment for the Arduino Robotics Laboratory as part of the project “Robotics Lab on Arduino: Creating Innovative Solutions for Automation and Programming” from the Romanian Kronospan Foundation as part of the “skill.ED” International Project Competition.
The project aims to create a modern educational platform for higher and vocational education, which will expand the research activities of teachers and students at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. The key idea of the project is to develop a modern concept for supporting vocational education in Ukraine using robotic systems on the Arduino platform. It involves the creation of an innovative laboratory with subsequent internships for teachers of vocational education institutions, training for students, and scientific and educational activities for the development of future specialists.
The project “Robotics Lab on Arduino: Creating Innovative Solutions for Automation and Programming” aims to create a unique laboratory with modern equipment that will operate both stationary and mobile, depending on the security conditions in the region. The laboratory will provide broad access to innovative technologies for vocational education institutions. This modernisation of vocational education is aimed at introducing modern robotics and programming technologies that change the learning process and promote the acquisition of new practical skills.
The KRONOSPAN Foundation financed the purchase of specialised equipment for the laboratory for a total amount of €9,949. The list includes:
-10 Arduino Uno KIT Mega Pack sets;
-10 sets of additional components for automation and robotics;
-10 sets of controllers and modules;
-2 sets of tools for working with robotics;
-3 laptops;
-3 3D printers for prototyping;
-50 sets of filament for 3D printing;
-2 TVs;
-additional peripheral equipment.
The project was developed by specialists from the Centre for Innovative Educational Technologies at the ERI “UEPA” in collaboration with Roman Nesterenko, Deputy Head of the International Relations Department at Karazin University.
The laboratory will operate on the basis of the Centre for Innovative Educational Technologies of the ERI “UEPA”, and the studio will be administered by the centre's specialists Kseniia Prysiazhna and Oleksandr Prysiazhnyi.
