On 24 October 2025, Lviv hosted the Youth MIL & AI Day ideathon as part of Global Media and Information Literacy Week. The event was attended by representatives of the Centre for Innovative Educational Technologies of the ERI “UEPA” of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University — Oleksandr PRYSIAZHNYI and Kseniia PRYSIAZHNA.
Youth MIL & AI Day brought together over 100 young leaders from all over Ukraine — students, activists, content creators, IT specialists, and researchers. Participants discussed the challenges of the modern information age, the role of artificial intelligence in education and society, and the development of critical thinking and media literacy.
A particularly noteworthy statement made during the event was: “Digital literacy is a form of our freedom”.

Svitlana SLIPCHENKO, Deputy Executive Director of Vox Ukraine.
Nadiia BALOVSIAK, Associate Professor at the School of Journalism and Communication at UCU.
Oleksandr MONASTYRSKYI, Analyst and Trainer at CEDEM.
Olha KRAVCHENKO, Head of the national media literacy project “Filter”.
Liza YAKNIUNAS, Chief AI Officer at Havas Village Ukraine.
Olha PETRIV, lawyer at CEDEM, member of the Expert Committee on AI at the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
The keynote speech was delivered by Oleksii MOLCHANOVSKYI, Director of Innovation at UCU and Chair of the Expert Committee on AI Development at the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
Participants also took part in panel discussions, open mic sessions, facilitated networking, and exchanged their own ideas on how to make the information space safer and the use of AI more conscious and useful.
The following topics were also discussed at the ideathon:
the importance of media and information literacy in the context of information wars;
how algorithms and artificial intelligence shape our information field;
can information literacy become a “vaccine” against manipulation and disinformation;
the ethical use of AI in education.
We sincerely thank the organizers of Youth MIL & AI Day, namely the Centre for Democracy and Rule of Law, the UNESCO Office in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Catholic University, and all partners of the event for creating an open, inspiring space for dialogue, exchange of experience, and formation of a community of conscious and responsible youth.
