Laboratory assistant responsible for youth work at the Centre for Innovative Educational Technologies of the Education and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy” of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Anastasiia YELAHINA, took an active part in the all-Ukrainian seminar-training ’Specialist in the field of affirming Ukrainian national and civic identity. Civic education", which took place from 14 to 17 October in the city of Pereiaslav.
The aim of the training seminar was to improve professional competencies in the field of civic education, shape a modern vision of Ukrainian national and civic identity, and create a platform for the exchange of experience between active representatives of the educational and public spheres.
Over the course of four days, participants worked in an interactive learning format: they took part in lively discussions with experts, performed team tasks, developed initiatives for the development of civic awareness, and learned to apply practical tools from non-formal education in their professional activities.
During the training, special attention was paid to topics such as:
- the role of education in shaping civic values,
- national memory as the basis of identity,
- creating a safe and inclusive educational space,
- media literacy and critical thinking as components of civic competence,
- the use of interactive methods in civic education.
Participants had the opportunity not only to deepen their knowledge, but also to exchange experiences with colleagues from different regions of Ukraine and develop new ideas for joint educational projects and initiatives.
Upon completion of the programme, all participants received official certificates with ECTS credits confirming their advanced training in civic education.
The event was organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine in conjunction with the Youth and Sports Department of the Kyiv Regional State Administration in partnership with the Hryhorii Skovoroda University in Pereiaslav and the Kyiv Regional Youth Centre.
