Professor Tetiana BONDARENKO, a representative of the Department of Information Computer Technologies and Mathematics of the Education and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy” of Karazin University, took part in the Summer School on “Modern Tools for Business: Gamification and Product Placement, Communication and Digital Media”, which was held at CITY College, European Campus of the University of York (Thessaloniki, Greece).
Representatives and students of the university attended lectures by Professor Christos Liasside on ‘Gamification and Product Placement’ and by Professor Eva Malinak on ‘Communication and Digital Media, with a focus on business applications’. The event focused on key strategies for business success. Students learnt how gamification techniques can increase consumer engagement, build brand awareness and strengthen customer loyalty, and expanded their knowledge of effective stealth advertising strategies. Participants also learned how digital media and strategic communications can be used to create effective business solutions and strengthen brand presence in the digital age.
The School was coordinated by representatives of the International Department of CITY College, the European Campus of the University of York: Ioanna Kapnopoulou, Head of Community Engagement and Corporate Development, Dimitris Kiakidis, Director of the Career, Employment and Entrepreneurship Centre, Theofano Kyriakou, Director of Student Services and Alumni.
The cultural programme of the Summer School included a city tour (sights), a guided walking tour and a visit to the Halkidiki coast.
All participants received certificates of participation in the School, as well as useful knowledge and incredible pleasure.
The Summer School at the City College of the University of York in Greece is part of the Twinning Initiative, which aims to establish partnerships between universities in Ukraine, the UK and the EU.
