On June 3-7, Hanna Zaparenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Restaurant, Hotel and Tourism Business of the Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy, took part in the House of Europe`s mobility program for educators and visited the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition at the Agricultural University of Athens.
Within the mobility program, Ms. Hanna conducted a seminar for master`s and postgraduate students of the Agricultural University of Athens on “Approaches to the development of technologies for flour products with a given nutritional value”.
A working meeting was held with Professor Nikolaos Stoforos, and a connection was established with Professor Jinua Zuo from the Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences (China) on further scientific cooperation between our educational institutions.
A laboratory class of Professor Ioanna Mandala on food engineering for 3rd year students majoring in Food Technology on the topic of Viscometry was attended.
The laboratories of the Department of Food Technology and Nutrition were visited:
- Laboratory of food microbiology and biotechnology;
- Laboratory of production and research of dairy products quality;
- Laboratory of food production;
- Laboratory of food quality control and analysis;
- Laboratory of oenology and alcoholic beverages.
As another positive result of the visit to the Agricultural University of Athens, an invitation was received for UEPA students majoring in specialty 181 “Food Technology” to conduct research at the AUA, as well as for teachers to improve their skills.
