Participation of UEPA representatives in the International Intensive ERASMUS+ Mobility Week on Compliance Management in Education at Hochschule Wismar (Germany)

 

A week-long visit of the Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy delegation consisting of Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Professor Maryna Vasylieva and Associate Professor of the Department of Economics and Management Yuliia Dudnieva to the University of Applied Sciences, Technology, Business and Design (Wismar, Germany) has come to an end.

UEPA representatives took part in the International Intensive ERASMUS+ Mobility Week "Mechanism for implementation of Universal Theoretical and Practical Approaches to Compliance Management Education at Universities of the European Union and Ukraine". Among the participating universities were also the Central Ukrainian National Technical University (Kropyvnytskyi), Budapest Business School (Hungary), University of Chemistry and Technology (Prague, Czech Republic), Infante D. Henrique University of Portugal (Portugal), Toros University (Turkey).

The International Intensive Mobility Week kicked off with a pleasant surprise for the representatives of Ukraine - namely, participation in the charity event "Rebuild Ukraine" at the Berlin’s Konzerthaus in support of Ukrainian children affected by the war. During the opera gala concert, European and Ukrainian artists performed arias from operas by world and national music classics.

A series of reports, presentations, workshops and interactive discussions on the issues of training compliance management specialists in the EU and Ukraine took place during the intense five days:

- Mr Christoph Albert from PricewaterhouseCoopers in Munich presented the report "Compliance Transformation – perspective of PwC and success factors";

- an interactive panel discussion in an interview format was held with Mr Pete Anderson, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer (USA), on the requirements for the competencies of a modern compliance management specialist and the US experience in implementing compliance in business;

- Mr Gabar Andrasi, Associate Professor at the Budapest Business School, held an interactive workshop on "Learning outcomes in the ethical component of compliance management" for representatives of participating universities;

- Mr. Markus Jüttner, representative of DICO - Deutsches Institut für Compliance (German Institute for Compliance), presented the experience of this professional association and opportunities for cooperation with Ukraine;

- Tobias Ruppert, General Manager, Compliance Officer, Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks & Plant Wörth (Germany), shared his experience of organising integrity checks of business partners.

Also there were reports by:

- Associate Professor Ozgur Ugur Arikan (Turkey) "Towards national and international relevance: restructuring the Bachelor's program in International Trade and Logistics through the prism of isomorphism";

- Dr Oleksii Makarenkov (Portugal) "Research on strategy and transnational cooperation in improving compliance management legal norms";

- Associate Professor Jan Vasek (Czech Republic) "Teaching compliance through the analysis of feature films".

At the end of a busy and productive week, a roundtable discussion "Mechanisms for effective and efficient implementation of compliance management programmes for master's students in participating HEIs" was held, where UEPA representatives presented their vision of the prospects for the development of compliance education in Ukrainian universities.

Informational meetings were held with the conference coordinators and ways of further cooperation on joint projects and events were discussed.
