UEPA students completed the educational course “School of lawmaker 2.0”

 

On March 3, a group of the Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy applicants took part in the final meeting “School of lawmaker 2.0”, where guests from among those who were not selected for the educational course were invited.

This educational course was aimed at developing civil society and understanding how the legislature works. The course was divided into 5 modules:

- Parliament and society.

- MPs and citizens.

- Legislative process.

- Development of draft laws.

- Advocacy and political communications.

The final stage in the course was the division into teams and the creation of one`s own draft law. UEPA students represented 3 teams:

- Culture (Kseniia Fediai, Oleksandr Prysiazhnyi).

- Social and school entrepreneurship (Milena Volska).

- Self-government (Ihor Marchak).

The course culminated in the presentation of the participants` own draft law, and the winner was announced by anonymous voting. The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko and MP Roman Hryshchuk provided their assessment and recommendations. According to the results of the voting of participants, guests and the jury, the Culture team with their draft law “On amendments to certain issues in the field of cultural heritage protection in order to preserve it, use cultural heritage objects in public life, protect the traditional character of the environment in the interests of present and future generations”.
