A student from Karazin University took part in the international leadership programme “Study Tours to Poland”

Kyrylo Kosharnyi, a student at the Education and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy” of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, took part in the international educational programme “Study Tours to Poland”, as part of which a study visit to Poland took place.

The programme ran from 4 to 13 May 2026 and was aimed at developing the leadership potential of active students, familiarising them with European practices in civic participation, local self-government, academic life, the implementation of socially significant initiatives, and the integration of the Ukrainian population in Europe.

Study Tours to Poland is a joint initiative of the BORUSSIA Foundation, the “Leaders of Change” (Liderzy Przemian) Foundation and the Polish-American Freedom Foundation. The visit to Poland was organised directly by the Spiritual Culture of the Borderland Foundation (Fundacja Kultury Duchowej Pogranicza), based in Lublin.

Over the course of ten days, participants took part in a packed educational, cultural and communication programme. They familiarised themselves with the academic environment in Lublin, the activities of civil society and youth organisations, the process of integrating Ukrainian professionals in Poland, the principles of the free market and how grant funding works for start-ups, as well as local and school budgets. In addition, training was provided on the use of artificial intelligence tools and countering disinformation.

A highlight of the programme was a visit to the Consulate-General of Ukraine in Lublin, a visit to the Lublin Voivodeship (regional administration), official meetings with representatives of the Department of International Cooperation, as well as a visit to the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University and a meeting with the student council.

The cultural part of the visit included an introduction to the city’s history, in particular a tour of Old Lublin, a visit to the “Juwenalia” student festival, the Lublin Open Air Village Museum, a day trip to Kazimierz Dolny, and participation in a culinary masterclass at the Regional Museum of Cebularz.

Taking part in the Study Tours to Poland provided an opportunity to gain valuable European experience and discover new tools for implementing community initiatives in Kharkiv.

Karazin University and the Education and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy” congratulate Kyrylo Kosharnyi on his participation in this prestigious international programme and wish him every success in his future academic, professional and community activities.
