The Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Power Engineering took part in the “Progressive&Strong” summit

Last weekend, on 6 December 2025, the Ukrainian House in Kyiv hosted a summit of Ukraine's largest public association of educators, the Progressive&Strong NGO.

Artem Cherniuk, head of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Power Engineering at the Education and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy” of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, took part in the summit.

Over the course of eight hours, a number of important issues in contemporary Ukrainian education were discussed, ranging from teachers' salaries to inclusivity in education, as well as the experiences of displaced and frontline educational institutions and educational institutions that are experimenting with the format of state-owned non-profit enterprises.

This year's summit was the largest yet, with more than 700 educators from across the country representing all levels of education in attendance.

The day served as a platform for honest dialogue about overcoming the challenges of war and the gap between expectations and reality in Ukrainian education.

Main topics and activities:

- presentation of the results of the NGO's annual activities, in particular achievements in advocacy and protection of educators' rights;

- public discussion “PROeducation 2025: Between hopes and disappointments. How to overcome the gaps?”;

- open microphone “Voices of education. What “hurts” and how to act together!”;

- “Education as a space of opportunity: quality, inclusion, democracy and dignity of labour”.

Particular attention was paid to supporting veterans with visual impairments and their rehabilitation.
